About this session
Emotional intelligence becomes more useful when it moves from a general idea to a personal leadership profile. The EQ-i 2.0® provides that starting point by examining emotional and social functioning across five composite areas and 15 related subscales.
Participants complete the licensed assessment before the facilitated interpretation component. The resulting Leadership Report creates a structured profile of how the participant currently describes their emotional-intelligence capabilities.
It is a development input rather than a verdict on leadership ability or personality.
The strongest value comes from interpretation. Individual scores can mean different things depending on the rest of the profile, the leadership role and the situations in which the person is operating.
An appropriately qualified practitioner helps the participant look for meaningful patterns, relative strengths, development opportunities and areas where apparently positive capabilities may need better balance with another part of the profile.
The experience then moves deliberately into leadership application.
Participants connect insights with situations such as giving difficult feedback, expressing disagreement, listening under pressure, managing conflict, making decisions when emotions are involved, leading change, maintaining optimism without minimizing reality, or adapting when the original plan no longer fits.
Development is kept behavioral. Rather than trying to 'become more emotionally intelligent' in the abstract, participants select a small number of observable actions to test.
They might pause before a consequential response, express a concern more directly, check an assumption before deciding, create more space for another person's perspective, or adapt their approach during uncertainty.
Longer development options create repeated cycles of application, reflection and adjustment. The goal is to help leaders use their assessment insight more intentionally in the moments where their behavior affects other people and the work.
What your people take away
- Understand the five EQ-i 2.0® composite areas and the 15 emotional-intelligence subscales represented in your profile
- Interpret individual results as part of an interconnected leadership profile rather than treating one score in isolation
- Identify meaningful strengths, development opportunities and areas where balance between capabilities may matter
- Connect assessment insight with leadership situations involving communication, relationships, decisions, feedback, conflict, change and pressure
- Translate profile insight into one to three observable leadership behaviors that can be practiced in real work
- Use reflection, feedback and repeated application to refine development rather than treating assessment completion as the end of the process

Interpret the Assessment With Context
Every lengthPrinciples for reading results
- No single EQ-i 2.0® score defines the quality of a leader.
- The assessment is a self-report measure and reflects the participant's responses at the time of completion.
- Individual subscales should be interpreted as part of the wider profile and leadership context.
- A higher score is not automatically 'better' in every leadership situation, and a comparatively lower score is not a judgment of character or capability.
- Interpretation should consider patterns, balance and the behavior the participant is trying to strengthen.
