Annual uprating of Statutory Sick Pay and statutory family leave pay
What’s happening
Statutory Sick Pay has been payable from the first day of sickness, with no lower earnings limit, since April 6, 2026. Statutory sick, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental pay are normally uprated each April, but the 2027 figures have not been published yet.
What to do
Update payroll, absence and family leave policies as soon as the 2027 rates are published, and check sick-pay processes reflect day-one eligibility.
