About this session

Learn to recognize birds before you even see them. Bird Song Recognition is a guided listening experience on the calls and songs of birds common in your region.

Participants learn a simple framework for listening: rhythm, repetition, pitch, phrase length and tone. They build their own memory cues for a manageable set of birds.

The 90-minute session works with recorded sounds and listening challenges. The half-day version takes the group outdoors to listen in the field.
