About this session

A difficult moment at work often produces two separate experiences. First comes the event itself: a mistake, criticism, conflict, missed opportunity or day when things simply did not go well.

Then comes the internal commentary—“I should have known better,” “I always do this,” or “Everyone else can handle this except me.” That second layer can keep the original event alive long after it has finished.

This session helps participants recognize that pattern and respond differently.

Self-compassion is approached as compassionate accuracy: acknowledging what happened honestly, making room for the fact that difficulty is part of being human and choosing language and actions that help rather than punish.

Participants practice applying the approach to feedback, mistakes, comparison, pressure and setbacks.

They learn how to remain accountable without turning one event into a verdict on their ability or worth, how to repair what genuinely needs repairing and how to build short recovery practices that make resilience easier to access during demanding periods.
