About this session
Hands-Only CPR is an emergency response for an adult or teenager who suddenly collapses, is unresponsive and is not breathing normally. It involves calling emergency services and delivering continuous chest compressions without rescue breaths.
The approach is designed to help people begin responding immediately rather than losing time because they are frightened of doing something wrong.
Participants learn how to recognize a possible cardiac arrest, activate emergency help, begin compressions and work with colleagues to retrieve and use an AED.
This practical workplace session gives participants repeated guided practice on CPR manikins. The facilitator demonstrates scene safety, responsiveness and breathing checks, emergency activation, hand and body position, compression rhythm, switching rescuers and AED integration.
Participants then work through realistic workplace scenarios. They practice allocating roles, communicating clearly, managing rescuer fatigue, directing emergency responders into the building and continuing CPR while an AED is prepared.
The experience focuses principally on adults and teenagers who suddenly collapse. It does not replace broader first-aid training or accredited instruction in conventional CPR with rescue breaths, pediatric CPR or other medical emergencies.
This session provides practical skills training but should only be described as accredited or certificated where the selected provider is formally authorized to issue that certification.
