About this session
Moving toward plant-based eating does not have to mean changing everything overnight. For many people, the easiest route is to start with meals they already enjoy and gradually change the ingredients, frequency, or balance.
This practical session helps participants decide where to start and what to change next.
The group works through familiar breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, supermarket choices, restaurant meals, family food, and the situations where plant-based eating can become inconvenient or confusing.
Participants also learn how to maintain nutritional quality as animal foods are reduced or removed. Protein, iron, calcium, vitamin B12, omega-3 fats, iodine, and vitamin D are explored in the context of real meals and different levels of plant-based eating.
The goal is not to prescribe one destination. Participants may want a few more plant-based meals each week, a mostly plant-based pattern, vegetarian eating, or a fully vegan diet; the session helps them build a transition that matches their own preferences.
