About this session

Responsible AI at work is not just a policy question.

It appears in ordinary decisions: whether to paste information into an AI assistant, whether an AI-generated summary can be trusted for a high-stakes meeting, whether customers or colleagues should know AI was involved, whether a generated image or paragraph can safely be reused and whether an automated recommendation deserves to influence a consequential decision.

Participants begin with accountability. AI can generate, summarize, classify, recommend and automate, but it does not take responsibility for the outcome.

Employees remain responsible for how AI is used within their role, what information they provide, what they do with the output and when they seek additional review. The level of care should increase as the potential consequence increases.

The session then explores the practical boundaries that protect people and organizational trust: confidentiality, personal information, transparency, fairness, accessibility, intellectual-property awareness and appropriate disclosure.

Participants learn to distinguish low-risk experimentation from situations that require approved tools, additional controls or specialist involvement.

Finally, participants turn responsible-AI principles into everyday habits. They use practical checks before, during and after AI-assisted work, identify when a task should remain human-led and build clearer escalation and learning practices when something goes wrong.

The objective is not to make employees afraid of AI. It is to create enough judgment and confidence that useful AI adoption does not outpace accountability.

What your people take away

  • Recognize that responsibility for workplace decisions and outputs remains with people, even when AI contributes
  • Match the level of human review and control to the potential consequence of the AI-assisted task
  • Protect confidential, personal and sensitive information when using workplace AI tools
  • Recognize transparency, fairness, accessibility and intellectual-property considerations before AI output is used
  • Know when an AI use case requires additional approval, specialist advice or escalation
  • Build repeatable responsible-AI habits that support useful experimentation without weakening organizational trust

What’s covered

Know What You Are Responsible For

Every length
  • AI can assist — it cannot own the outcomeParticipants examine the difference between delegating work to an AI system and delegating accountability.
  • Match care to consequenceA draft agenda and a recommendation affecting somebody's employment do not require the same controls.
  • Know the tool & the contextParticipants consider whether they are using an employer-approved tool, what information the organization permits them to enter and whether the system is suitable for the task.
  • Know when to stop & escalateSome situations exceed the employee's authority or expertise.

Protect People, Information & Trust

90 minutes and longer
  • Protect confidential & personal informationParticipants examine why customer information, employee information, commercially sensitive material, credentials, unreleased strategy and other restricted content require particular care.
  • Use transparency purposefullyNot every minor AI-assisted edit requires a declaration, while some contexts make AI involvement materially relevant.
  • Look for fairness & accessibility risksAI outputs can reproduce stereotypes, exclude perspectives or work unevenly across populations.
  • Respect content, sources & ownershipParticipants develop practical awareness that AI-generated text, images, code or analysis can raise questions about source material, attribution, permissions and ownership.

Keep Humans Meaningfully in Control

3 hours and longer
  • Make human review realA human-in-the-loop control is weak if the reviewer simply clicks approve without enough time, expertise or evidence to challenge the output.
  • Review in proportion to riskParticipants create different review expectations for low-consequence drafting, internal analysis, external customer communication and higher-consequence recommendations.
  • Do not automate the responsibility awayEfficiency pressure can encourage teams to remove human involvement simply because a workflow can technically be automated.
  • Handle uncertainty openlyParticipants learn to distinguish what is known, what the AI suggests and what still requires verification or judgment.

Turn Responsible AI Into Everyday Practice

Full day only
  • Use a responsible-AI check before you beginParticipants build a practical pause before AI use: What is the task?
  • Document when the stakes require itHigher-consequence AI-assisted work may require clearer records of sources, assumptions, review or approval.
  • Learn from incidents & near missesA responsible AI culture should learn when a prompt exposes sensitive information, an output creates a misleading impression, a workflow produces unexpected bias or a control nearly fails.
  • Build confident responsible useResponsible AI is not the absence of experimentation.
Live Q&ATime for your people’s questions, answered by the expert.
