About this session
The respiratory system brings oxygen into the body and removes carbon dioxide, but breathing can be affected by many different conditions and exposures.
Cough, wheeze, breathlessness, chest tightness, mucus and repeated chest infections may be linked to asthma, respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergies, workplace irritants or other health concerns.
This session helps participants notice changes in breathing, identify possible patterns and reduce avoidable exposure to smoke, dust, fumes, airborne particles and respiratory infections.
It also explores practical routines around movement, ventilation, symptom tracking and healthcare appointments.
The session provides broad respiratory-health education rather than focusing on one condition.
It does not replace diagnosis, inhaler training or individualized treatment, which are covered more specifically in sessions such as Asthma at Work and Inhaler Technique and Respiratory Medication Confidence.
