Desenrola 3.0 debt relief: discounts of 90% or more due to reach debtors

Takes effect All of February 2027By WorkblissUpdated October 19, 2026

What’s happening

A provisional measure signed September 25, 2026 lets the federal government buy, at auction, overdue bank and non-bank debts of up to R$10,000 that are roughly 2 to 4.5 years late and pass a discount of at least 90% to debtors; the government expects to reach up to 15 million people. Creditor bids run November-December 2026, with approvals in January and discounts from February 2027; Congress must still confirm the measure.
