Update OSH Code registration for existing central-sphere establishments
What’s happening
Under the OSH Code central rules in force since May 8, 2026, establishments already registered under older central labor laws must update their registration details on the Shram Suvidha portal within six months, which a leading law firm puts at November 8, 2026. This applies where the central government regulates the establishment (for example banks, insurers, mines, ports, airports); state rules will cover most other private employers.
What to do
Confirm which of your Indian entities fall under the central rules and file the update on Shram Suvidha before the Diwali break.
