First W-2s with new overtime, tips and Trump account codes due to employees

What’s happening

The 2026 Form W-2 adds Box 12 codes for qualified overtime pay (TT), cash tips (TP) and employer contributions to Trump accounts (TA). Employees need these figures to claim the new federal deductions for overtime and tips.

What to do

Check that payroll is tracking qualified overtime and tips correctly, and tell employees how the new W-2 boxes affect their tax returns.
