Gallup: frequent AI users more likely to fear losing their jobs

Date September 9, 2026By WorkblissUpdated October 19, 2026

What’s happening

Gallup Panel data (nearly 30,000 worker observations, 2023 to Q1 2026) show frequent AI users are about twice as likely as infrequent users to report acute fear of job elimination (6.3% vs 3.1%), and about 19% of workers say their job is somewhat or very likely to be eliminated within five years. Among frequent users, the link between AI use and that fear is 11 points weaker where employees feel the organization cares about their wellbeing.

What to do

Train managers to talk openly about how AI will change roles, and treat AI adoption as a wellbeing and change-management issue.

How Workbliss can help

Workbliss runs AI-confidence and change programs, and manager training on using AI openly and fairly.
