Gallup: only 1 in 5 employees fully trust leaders with their workplace data
What’s happening
In a survey of 22,573 U.S. workers in May 2026, 20% trust leaders 'a great deal' to use employee data responsibly, 59% believe their employer collects activity data such as hours and badge swipes, and about a third are concerned about how it is used. Only 19% say anyone at work has discussed that data with them.
What to do
Before adding monitoring, analytics or wellbeing tracking tools, explain what data is collected and how it will be used.
