About this session

Knowing CPR or understanding how an AED works does not automatically mean that a workplace will respond effectively when an emergency occurs.

During a real incident, employees may hesitate, duplicate the same task, struggle to locate equipment or assume that somebody else has contacted emergency services.

The Cardiac Emergency Scenario Workshop allows employees to practice the response as a coordinated team.

Participants move through realistic workplace simulations involving an unresponsive casualty, emergency activation, CPR, AED retrieval, internal communication and emergency-service access.

The workshop concentrates on the operational moments surrounding the clinical response: who recognizes that something is wrong, who calls emergency services, who starts CPR, who retrieves the AED, who meets the ambulance, who manages elevators or security doors, who keeps the surrounding area clear and who records what happened and supports colleagues afterward.

Participants use CPR manikins and AED training devices. No live defibrillator is activated, and no participant plays the physical casualty during CPR or shock-delivery practice.

This workshop is different from a CPR course. It tests how people, equipment, access procedures and workplace systems operate together. It does not automatically provide CPR certification or replace the organization's required first-aid training.

What your people take away

  • Allocating CPR, AED, emergency-call and access-management roles
  • Communicating clearly while several actions happen at the same time
  • Navigating workplace barriers such as reception, security, elevators and restricted areas
  • Reviewing the response constructively and identifying practical improvements
