About this session

Most people do not have one place where their financial life lives.

A payslip may be in an employer portal, an insurance document in email, a bank statement behind an online login, a receipt in a downloads folder and an important agreement sitting in a paper file nobody has opened for two years.

The information exists — but finding the right thing at the right moment can become unnecessary work.

This session helps participants build a practical financial information system around what they actually need to manage.

They create an inventory of important accounts and records, separate active documents from reference material and clutter and build a simple folder and naming structure that makes information easier to recognize without opening every file.

Participants then design how new financial information enters the system, what happens when a document requires action and how completed records move into an archive.

They also create a lightweight maintenance process and an appropriate household or emergency-access plan so important information remains usable rather than becoming another digital filing project that slowly falls apart.
