Heat season: get heat-stress plans ready before March
What’s happening
India's hot-weather season runs March through May, when the India Meteorological Department issues district heat-wave warnings and states activate heat action plans. There is no national heat-stress law for workplaces, but the OSH rules require drinking water, shelters and rest rooms.
What to do
Before March, set heat triggers for outdoor, warehouse, delivery and field staff (water, shade, rest breaks, shifted hours) and book heat-safety sessions.
