About this session
Mindfulness at work is not about meditating through the working day or trying to remain calm all the time. It is the practical ability to notice what is happening, bring attention back deliberately and create a little more space before reacting automatically.
This session focuses on how mindfulness can be used inside ordinary workplace moments: before meetings, during email, when switching between tasks, after difficult interactions and during periods of pressure.
Participants practice short exercises that fit into the flow of work rather than requiring long periods away from it.
The session also helps participants notice when they are working on autopilot, carrying one interaction into the next or allowing digital noise to control attention.
The final module helps them build a simple workplace mindfulness routine using existing workday transitions as cues for practice.

What’s covered
Bring Attention Back to the Work in Front of You
Every length- Notice when you have gone on autopilotParticipants identify familiar moments such as reading without absorbing, opening another tab automatically or continuing a task while mentally somewhere else.
- Return to one clear point of focusParticipants choose one immediate task, conversation or sensory anchor and deliberately return attention to it.
- Use a short arrival before important workParticipants practice a one-minute arrival before focused work or an important conversation using breath, posture and awareness of the immediate environment.
- Notice distraction without adding self-criticismParticipants practice treating ordinary distraction as information rather than failure.
Pause Before You React
90 minutes and longer- Notice the body's early signalsParticipants identify physical signs such as tension, faster breathing, heat or restlessness that may appear before a reactive response.
- Create a small response gapParticipants use one breath, grounding or a brief pause before sending a message, answering a difficult question or responding to frustration.
- Notice the story your mind addsParticipants identify quick interpretations such as 'they are ignoring me' or 'this is going badly' and practice recognizing them as thoughts rather than automatically treating them as established facts.
- Choose the response that fits the situationParticipants ask what the situation actually requires after the pause: a question, clarification, boundary, decision or no immediate response at all.
Create More Mindful Workday Transitions
3 hours and longer- Close one task before opening the nextParticipants briefly capture unfinished actions and deliberately mark the end of one activity before switching.
- Reset between meetingsParticipants practice a short pause between meetings using breathing, movement or sensory attention rather than immediately filling the gap with another stream of digital input.
- Notice emotional carryoverParticipants identify when frustration or anxiety from one interaction is shaping how they enter the next and use a short reset to acknowledge what happened before deciding how they want to show up now.
- Mark the end of the working dayParticipants create a brief shutdown cue that captures remaining tasks and signals that active work has ended.
Build Mindfulness Into Everyday Work
Full day only- Use existing moments as practice cuesParticipants attach brief mindfulness practices to activities already in the day, such as opening the laptop, joining a meeting or returning from lunch.
- Create one-, three- and five-minute optionsParticipants build different versions of their practice for different levels of available time.
- Match the practice to the momentParticipants choose attention practice when distracted, grounding when activated and a transition reset when mentally overloaded.
- Review what actually helpsParticipants use a short weekly reflection to notice which practices helped them focus, recover or respond more deliberately.
