About this session
Plant-based eating does not have to mean removing every animal product or completely changing the way you eat. It can simply mean putting more vegetables, fruit, beans, lentils, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and other plant foods at the center of everyday meals.
This practical introductory session helps participants understand how to build satisfying plant-based meals, where key nutrients come from, how to use beans and pulses more confidently, what to look for in plant-based alternatives, and how to make familiar breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks more plant-forward.
The session also tackles some of the questions people commonly have when they start eating more plants: Will I get enough protein? What about iron and vitamin B12?
Are meat substitutes healthy? Do I need supplements?
And does plant-based eating have to be expensive or complicated?
The aim is flexibility rather than perfection. Participants can use the principles whether they want one plant-based meal a week, several plant-focused days, or an entirely plant-based diet.
