About this session
Buyers rarely need more information simply because a salesperson has more information available. They need to understand what matters, why it matters in their context and what could be different if they act.
Sales storytelling helps organize discovery, value and proof into a narrative the buyer can follow.
Instead of moving from company introduction to product features to customer logos, the salesperson begins with the buyer's world: what is happening now, where the friction or opportunity sits, what the consequences are and what meaningful change could look like.
Participants learn how to turn discovery insight into a buyer narrative without pretending to know more about the customer's business than the customer does.
They build customer and proof stories that demonstrate relevance, translate features into meaningful change and use evidence at the points where a buyer reasonably needs confidence.
The session then applies storytelling across the sales process.
Participants adapt stories for demos, executive conversations, objections and different stakeholders and learn how to make the central narrative simple enough for an internal champion to repeat when the salesperson is no longer in the room.
The objective is not theatrical storytelling. It is helping buyers understand, believe and communicate the case for change.

What’s covered
Build the Story Around the Buyer — Not the Seller
Every length- Start with the sales outcomeParticipants define what the story needs to help the buyer understand, reconsider, believe or decide before choosing the narrative.
- Make the buyer the central characterParticipants shift from company-centered narratives such as 'we were founded, we built, we offer' toward the customer's situation, decisions, constraints and desired change.
- Turn discovery into meaningful tensionParticipants identify the gap between the customer's current reality and what they need or want to achieve.
- Build the core buyer narrativeParticipants organize the story around a practical sequence.
Turn Value & Proof Into Stories Buyers Can Believe
90 minutes and longer- Move from features to changeParticipants connect product capabilities with what they enable the customer to do differently and the business or user outcome that could follow.
- Build customer stories that have a pointParticipants structure customer examples around the original situation, the relevant challenge, what changed, the role of the solution and the observed outcome.
- Put evidence where the buyer needs confidenceParticipants use metrics, examples, demonstrations, customer evidence and other appropriate proof at the points where the story makes a claim the buyer may reasonably question.
- Make stories specific without breaking trustSpecificity creates credibility, but sellers must respect customer confidentiality, permissions and commercial sensitivity.
Use Storytelling Across the Sales Conversation
3 hours and longer- Use micro-stories in discovery & insight conversationsParticipants learn to use short examples to introduce a possibility, illustrate a pattern or help a buyer consider an issue without hijacking discovery with a long seller monologue.
- Turn the demo into a customer journeyParticipants structure demonstrations around the buyer's workflow, problem or desired change rather than navigating feature after feature according to the product menu.
- Use stories to illuminate objections — not escape themParticipants use relevant customer examples to show how another buyer evaluated a similar concern, risk or implementation question while still addressing the objection directly.
- Adapt the same core story for different stakeholdersParticipants preserve the underlying buyer narrative while changing the evidence, level of detail and implications for executives, finance, operations, end users, technical stakeholders or other relevant audiences.
Make the Story Travel Through the Buying Organization
Full day only- Build a story the buyer can retellParticipants test whether the central narrative is simple enough for a buyer or internal champion to explain accurately to someone who was not in the original sales conversation.
- Create multiple lengths of the same storyParticipants create concise, medium and fuller versions of the same buyer narrative so the message can survive an executive question, a short internal conversation, a sales meeting or a formal presentation.
- Equip the internal champion without scripting themParticipants identify the evidence, language, business case and simple narrative an internal supporter may need when explaining the opportunity to colleagues.
- End with the decision or next moveA sales story should not end simply because the narrative is memorable.
