About this session
CliftonStrengths, formerly StrengthsFinder, is Gallup's talent assessment. It provides a language for exploring recurring patterns in how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. The selected report reveals either the participant's Top 5 themes or the full ranked set of 34 themes.
Choose this experience for employees, managers, or intact teams who want to connect that insight with everyday work. Participants examine the report alongside specific examples, feedback, and the demands of their role.
They identify where a natural approach contributes useful value, where it needs adjustment, and which knowledge, skills, or partnerships would help them develop.
Configure report access separately from coaching and group development. Participants with suitable existing results can use those reports; eligible Top 5 holders can unlock the fuller profile without repeating the assessment.
A longer workshop or program adds application time, not a different assessment or an automatic report upgrade.
The facilitated learning focuses on choices and practice. Participants can explore personal insights privately and share selected behaviors or support needs rather than displaying their reports.
Progress is reviewed through application and feedback, with no requirement to retake the assessment to produce a different theme order.
What your people take away
- Understand the selected personal report and connect it with real work examples
- Distinguish talent themes from demonstrated skills and job performance
- Turn a relevant insight into a specific development action
- Recognize when a useful approach needs adjustment or additional support
- Build partnerships through practical conversations about contribution and needs
- Review workplace application without ranking employees by their themes

Use Results as a Development Resource
90 minutes and longerPrinciples for reading results
- A talent-theme profile is not a direct measure of job competence, intelligence, or completed development.
- A theme's position describes its place in that person's profile; it is not a performance percentile against colleagues.
- A lower-ranked theme is not automatically a weakness, and a leading theme can still be applied ineffectively in a particular situation.
- A theme absent from the Top 5 does not prove that someone cannot perform the associated activity.
- People with similar leading themes can contribute differently because of their other themes, skills, experience, and context.
Develop Strengths Through Real Work
3 hours and longer- Connect the Insight With an ExampleChoose a theme available in the report and examine a specific situation.
- Choose a Deliberate ActionIdentify one task or conversation in which a more intentional approach could help.
- Adjust and PartnerReview whether the approach is helping in this context.
- Learn From FeedbackCompare the intention with the effect on the task and other people.
Build Practical Partnerships Without Labeling the Team
Full day onlyGround rules for team use
- Agree task responsibilities using capability, workload, role requirements, and discussion, not a theme label alone.
- Explore complementary support without making one person permanently responsible for a type of work or unpaid emotional support.
- Do not infer a missing team capability merely because a domain is absent from the Top 5 profiles people have chosen to share.
- CliftonStrengths is a development tool, not a basis for hiring, promotion, redundancy, or succession selection.
- Completing this experience does not confer Gallup coach certification or practitioner accreditation.
