About this session

Purchasing an automated external defibrillator is only one part of workplace cardiac-emergency preparedness. The device must be appropriately located, visible, accessible, maintained and supported by employees who know where it is and how to activate the wider emergency response.

This active advisory experience gives the organization an independent, practical review of its AED arrangements. The specialist examines the journey from a person collapsing to CPR beginning, the AED arriving and emergency responders reaching the casualty.

The review can examine device locations, visibility, access across working hours, retrieval routes, locked cabinets, device status, battery and pad expiry, employee awareness, reception and security procedures, emergency-service entry, recordkeeping and drill arrangements.

This is not simply an equipment check. It considers whether the people, device, environment and response procedure work together as a usable system.

The review is advisory. It should not be marketed as a statutory inspection, legal opinion, medical-device service or guarantee of regulatory compliance unless the selected provider is separately qualified and contracted to provide those services.
