About this session

A French retirement pension is built over an entire career, but employees often encounter the system as scattered information: trimestres on one record, Agirc-Arrco points on another, changing retirement ages in the news, workplace retirement savings elsewhere, and online estimates that can look definitive even when a career record still contains gaps.

This session brings the system together. Participants first map the difference between the Retraite de Base and Agirc-Arrco and learn how to review the career data behind both.

They then explore how trimestres, reference earnings, taux plein, décote, surcote, and current retirement-age rules affect the basic pension at a conceptual level.

A separate module explains how Agirc-Arrco contributions become points, how those points become complementary pension income, and why career interruptions or old records should be checked rather than assumed correct.

The final stage focuses on preparing for the transition to retirement.

Participants explore retirement estimates, retirement timing questions, retraite progressive, cumul emploi-retraite, pension de réversion, the role of PER and other supplementary savings, and the practical process for applying for retirement.

They leave with a French Retirement Review Checklist that turns a complex system into a repeatable review process rather than an individualized retirement recommendation.
